Logbook entry: Adding battery bank to Albertometer (2009-12-29) at Helo Cave
About happenings on Dec. 29, 2009, Aaron Curtis wrote:
Nial and Aaron loaded up a red sled with 9 58Ah sealed "Sun-extender" batteries and drove over to Helo Cave. Aaron had rigged prussik cord to a rock box, easing the frustrating process of lowering the heavy and handle-less batteries into the Cave. While wiring up the batteries, Bill showed up and surveyed the scene. Nial promptly shorted out one of the batteries.
Once the batteries were wired up, Aaron packed up the old tiny 12V (shorting it out in the process) and then went to disable the SO2 sensor and pump on the Albertometer to save power.
