This was our final day at Warren - we planned to pull out the sample probe still there, as well as to set up and remove a third one before derigging.

After a few days of blowing snow and wind, we weren't sure what to expect at the entrance. Tom brought a shovel and had to dig out the rope. The entrance had changed a lot – the side where our rope went in was snowed in so we needed to climb straight into the main chamber. This was an easier climb in (and out) but I guess it wouldn't have been possible before the storm.

We went back to ‘CD’, the room where our sampling setup was still going. It was about 13.8C in the vent. We then returned to where our first Warren site (v6) had been, and went up to the right (as opposed to the left, where CD was). There was a crawlspace that opened out to the right and became a sort of low-roofed chamber, and shrank into another crawlspace. Tobias found a vent here to sample. We called this Warren T, and the temperature there was 14C. We collected the sample immediately so we could take everything out. The petrol smell was still there so we also we collected some copper tubes near the entrance to see if we can analyse for organics.

It took some digging to find the anchors but derigging was otherwise straightforward.
